"English is so much easier!" This is a quote that most people who are native English speakers have shouted in frustration while trying to learn another language.  However, people who are learning English as a second language understand just how ridiculously difficult English really is.

Consider the following sentences:

- The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.
- The bandage was wound around the wound.
- A seamstress and a sewer fell down the sewer.

- There is no egg in eggplant, nor ham in hamburger and neither apple nor pine in pineapple.

- You park in the driveway and drive on the parkway.

- When the stars are out, they are visible but when the lights are out, they are invisible.

The exceptions are in the thousands with plurals like tooth and teeth and cactus and cacti, and past tenses like eat becoming ate and lose becoming lost! Spelling in English feels nearly impossible for so many people because of those mysterious silent letters and the multiple sounds made by those not so simple English vowels.

English is anything but EASY!!!  Of course it is easy to speak a language that you already speak!!! THAT is why people who speak English think that it is so easy!

Even though it is anything but easy, many people in other countries do learn English in addition to their native language and sometimes even a third language.  So why learn a foreign language??? More specifically, why learn Spanish?

Check out these videos and come up with some reasons of your own for learning a foreign language.

Learning a foreign language is important. Speaking multiple languages can create many opportunities in future careers. If you go to visit or live in a foreign country, it is easier to talk to people in their native language since most of those people know that language. It also leaves the possibility to become a teacher and pass on language skills to the next generation. It can also be important because if you have family members that speak a certain language, you can learn that language to be able to talk to them.

Learning a new language, especially one as common as Spanish, is very beneficial to a person to allow them to communicate with people who speak Spanish, which can help when traveling, or if you meet somebody new who's original language is Spanish. Where we live in the Unites States, it is very common that we will meet many Spanish speaking people in our lives, and learning their language will help them to feel more connected, and may help you if you are in a Spanish speaking country.

For example, if you travel to another country, you will have the opportunity to actually talk to people who live in that country and not just no understand what they are saying. Also, if someone doesn't understand Spanish, some jobs require you to maybe speak a certain language. 16. Learning a language is really important in many ways. For example, learning a language is required for most colleges and so it shows that colleges want their students who come to their schools to know at least one different language. Another reason why it's so important is because everyone in the world speaks different languages and only staying with your native language could make it more difficult if you ever get to talk to someone who doesn't really know your native language or who speaks a different language. Furthermore, some jobs would like their employees to know a foreign language. Although it's not required for the job, it would help you get the job if you add in that you know another language. Finally, the last reason is that if you ever want to visit a foreign country, although people there might speak your native language anyways, it would help you get the most out of your trip if you know their countries main language.

I do not know too much about my heritage. What I do know is that my great grandmother's dad, (so my great great grandpa), left Scotland when he was very young. He had to live with his Aunt and Uncle in Scotland which he did not like. When his favorite brother was hit and killed by a train, his Aunt and Uncle did not seem to care, and said they would be saving money on food. He was upset so he left and somehow got to America to start a better life with other family that was already here.

As far as I know I am part Italian and French Canadian. Nothing amazing. The videos were full of heritage, however even my grandparents are unsure of our heritage.

I am Italian and Irish. I am mostly Italian and only a small part Irish. I don't know exactly which ancestors of mine traveled to here, but I am certain of the fact that they did. That is all I know of my heritage

  99. I think we should celebrate Indigidous People Day because I feel like if we celebrated Columbus Day many people would not be happy with that but with Indigidous People Day everyone can be happy.
